The Atlanta Dream closed out their first-round playoff series with a 93-75 victory over the host Washington Mystics on Wednesday to sweep the matchup and reach the WNBA semi-finals for the first time since 2018.
Allisha Gray led the Dream with 22 points and four steals, while point guard Jordin Canada produced a near triple-double performance with 19 points, 11 assists and seven rebounds, adding three steals and four three-pointers. Canada had also posted 10 points and 10 assists in Atlanta’s Game 1 win.
The Game 2 triumph completed a 2-0 series win for Atlanta and eliminated the Mystics from the playoffs. The Dream will next face the No. 8 seed New York Liberty in the semi-finals.
The win underlined Atlanta’s balanced attacking and defensive contributions, with Gray’s scoring and perimeter defense complemented by Canada’s playmaking and outside shooting. The Dream advance marks a significant step for the franchise as they move into the next round of the postseason.
