Jaguar Land Rover has confirmed plans to reduce its workforce as it moves to lower costs across the business.
The company said it needs to save about £1.7bn over the next two years and that the planned job cuts form part of that effort.
In a statement, Jaguar Land Rover said the measures are intended to help meet its stated savings target. The firm did not quantify the number of roles affected in its announcement.
The company said it will set out further details on the programme as it progresses and engage with affected employees and stakeholders through the process.
