Liverpool and Chelsea have kicked off their fourth-round Carabao Cup tie at Anfield, with the fixture scheduled to start at 20:00 GMT.
In a moment of pre-match cordiality, the two Basque coaches exchanged a warm embrace on the touchline before the teams walked out. The atmosphere inside Anfield built steadily as supporters took their places for what is always a closely watched domestic cup meeting between the two clubs.
Liverpool took the field in their traditional red strip while Chelsea appeared in blue. Chelsea’s movements before kick-off left Liverpool facing the Kop in the first half, with the home side set to attack that end of the ground initially.
