The Welsh singer Cate McHugh was named the winner of The Voice UK on Saturday, taking the title in the programme's live final.
Her coach, Sir Tom Jones, publicly congratulated McHugh after she was crowned, marking a successful mentorship for the veteran performer on the televised talent show.
McHugh, representing Wales on the series, emerged as the series' victor following the culmination of the competition's live rounds. The result was announced at the conclusion of Saturday's final episode.
The outcome closes this instalment of the long-running singing competition and follows the customary format of contestants being guided by celebrity coaches through blind auditions, battle rounds and live performances before viewers and/or judges determine the winner.
