Temasek to open Abu Dhabi and Riyadh offices in biggest Middle East expansion yet

Singapore state investor Temasek plans to establish offices in Riyadh and Abu Dhabi by the first half of 2027, marking its most significant expansion into the Middle East to date.

Temasek, the Singapore state-owned investment company, said it will open offices in Riyadh and Abu Dhabi by the first half of 2027. The move represents the firm’s largest expansion into the Middle East to date.

The decision to establish a physical presence in Saudi Arabia’s capital and the United Arab Emirates’ capital signals a deeper engagement with markets across the Gulf region. Temasek has been an active global investor across a range of sectors, and opening local offices typically allows firms to broaden deal sourcing and on-the-ground engagement with partners.

While Temasek’s announcement set the timeline for the new offices, the firm has not provided detailed public information on the size, staffing or specific investment focus of the Riyadh and Abu Dhabi operations. The locations, however, place the company at the heart of two of the region’s principal financial and investment hubs.

The expansion comes amid growing international interest in Middle Eastern markets. Temasek’s move to establish offices in both Riyadh and Abu Dhabi will make it one of the more visible global investors with a dedicated base in the Gulf, reflecting the region’s increasing role on the global investment map.
